In 2000, David and Suzanne McMillian, Ernie Cowger, and Lynette Crain had a vision to combine their respective practices under one roof, creating a unique multidisciplinary treatment facility for the Shreveport Bossier area,  The Center for Therapy. 

David had been in private practice as a marriage and family therapist since 1991.  Ernie Cowger has been an Associate Professor of Counseling at Louisiana Tech University serving the campus at Barksdale Air Force Base for many years, and had started a part-time practice with David. Suzanne, an Occupational Therapist and Lynette, a Physical Therapy Assistant, had practiced in Pediatric Therapy at a local hospital clinic for years.  In 2000, David and Suzanne married and the time seemed right.  The Center began as a small combination of these focused individuals offering their services.  Today,  The Center for Therapy has expanded and grown to offer multiple services  housed in an 8000 square foot facility in Shreveport, conviently located at 1800 Buckner Square providing:
